What is chipboard cardboard?

Chipboard is a pressed paperboard (non-corrugated cardboard). It's made by gluing fragments and layers of recycled paper together. The adhesive is applied using pressure and heat and ends up being smooth and rigid. The thickness of chipboard varies from very thick to very thin, but it is always heavier than cardstock.

While chipboard is very similar to cardboard, it is not corrugated like cardboard. Therefore, it's not hollow internally like cardboard is. There are many different densities. Chipboard ranges widely in thickness

Please Note: Recently, there has been a shortage and a huge delay in importing of raw materials that requires box manufacturers to source from different cardboard and paper manufacturers. Therefore, the consistency of these materials is unknown, and they may end up having a different shade or texture.
